Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

Airfix 1/72 - series 1

This was a very simple model to build and there were no real faults to be found. I've read various discussions about whether the wings should have ribs or not, i.e. whether they should be fabric or metal sheet covered, but I built the kit out of the box and it looks just fine. The only difference I could see between this series 1 kit and the series 2 offering is that the latter has two decal options, whereas this kit has just the one.

Vallejo Model Air and Humbrol acrylics were used for the solid colours, with Humbrol metalcotes used for metallics and Vallejo and Klear for the varnishing and sealing. Flory dark wash and graphite sticks were used for weathering and wear & tear. Elastic cotton was used for the wire antenna.
